20 Years of Hits! Green Week Returns.

April 17th - 26th, 2026

For two decades, Green Week has been the heartbeat of April in Humboldt County.

From the classrooms of Cal Poly Humboldt to the streets of the Arcata Creamery District, we are celebrating 20 years of ecology, economy, and the culture that shaped a movement.

Whether you’re a legacy farmer, a student, a policymaker, or a local business owner — this week is about reminding the world why Humboldt is the Heartbeat of the Culture.

“Green isn’t just a color — it’s a lifestyle.”

— Stephen Gieder, Founder of Humboldt Green & The Ganjery

Green Week: A 10-Day Movement to "Lively Up" the Community. Connecting People, Planet, and Prosperity.

Humboldt Green Events, in partnership with the Arcata Chamber of Commerce and the non-profit Community Pride and Peace, A DreamMaker Project, is proud to announce the return of Green Week Humboldt 2026. This county-wide movement is designed to reinvigorate our local neighborhoods through environmental stewardship, youth engagement, and a celebration of the businesses that power our region.

Green Week is more than a series of dates on a calendar; it is a call to action for every resident of Humboldt County. The movement focuses on the "Humboldt Green" philosophy: the belief that when we care for our land and each other, we create a resilient, peaceful community for the next generation.

The Three Pillars of Green Week 2026

Community Pride & Peace: The week features neighborhood cleanups and "Peace Walks" in Arcata and McKinleyville. The goal is to reclaim our public spaces and foster a sense of safety and mutual respect among neighbors. By attending events that offer exposure to local resources- we can reinforce the seams of support for a stronger impact in our County.

Youth & The Beauty of Farming: At the heart of the movement is a focus on our youth. Through interactive workshops and planting activities, Green Week highlights the beauty of sustainable farming, teaching the next generation that "growing local" is the key to our future.

The Businesses That Power Us: Green Week shines a spotlight on the entrepreneurs who call Humboldt their home. By highlighting our "Business Power-Hubs," the movement encourages residents to engage with the local economy that sustains our quality of life.

“Green Week is about celebrating the diversity and strong bonds cultivated in our small community. It’s about showing our kids the beauty of the earth and showing our neighbors that we are committed to a peaceful, thriving Humboldt. We’re inviting everyone—from the farmer in the field to the business owner on the plaza—to help us lively up this beautiful place we call home.”

- Stephen Gieder, Executive Director of Humboldt Green Events
