Cannifest is proud to host the Headstash Bowl in collaboration with the legendary Golden Tarp Awards! We're bringing together industry leaders, legacy cultivators, and the entire cannabis community for a celebration of unity and exceptional cannabis.
Join us as we honor the history and the evolving future of cannabis, guided by the vision of industry icons Kevin Jodrey (founder of Ganjier and the Golden Tarp Awards) and Steve Gieder (producer of Cannifest and founder of the Headstash Bowl Competitions). The Headstash Bowl is renowned for showcasing top-tier cannabis, while the Golden Tarp Awards celebrates the artistry and dedication of master cultivators. Together, they represent the pinnacle of quality, tradition, and innovation within California's vibrant cannabis scene.
The 2025 Competition: The West Coast's Premier Showcase. Prepare for the ultimate West Coast showdown! The Headstash Bowl 2025 will feature the following categories for both Licensed AND Legacy:
1. Flower (Greenhouse)
2. Flower (Indoor)
3. Infused Foods & Drinks
4. Live Rosin
Flower (Greenhouse) is the only category competing for the prestigious Golden Tarp Award. The remaining Categories will compete for the legendary Headstash Bowl Trophy AND 10K IN CASH AND PRIZES! We warmly invite entries from legacy and traditional cultivators, as well as licensed and new-school growers. If you grow it or craft it with passion, this is your stage!

Registration Fee:
$300 per single entry
$1000 for a package of four entries per competitor
Accepting BOTH Licensed & Legacy Growers:
Licensed California Brands (METRC): Enjoy early promotion on our IG, submit your METRC-tested, shelf-ready products, and benefit from flexible sample delivery options, including dispensary pennying or direct coordination.
Legacy Growers (Non-METRC): represent the homegrow community if applicable, gain brand promotion opportunities and utilize packaging provided by the Headstash Bowl team for your entries.

Uncompromising Integrity & Safety:
All entries will undergo mandatory impurity testing by our Headstash Lab Partner: Pure CannaLyst Labs (purecannalystlabs.com). This commitment ensures a clean and safe judging experience for all. Failed samples will be destroyed and contestants notified, and no refunds will be given.
The Judging Experience
Up to 15 experienced judges per category will evaluate entries using the Headstash Bowl's established assessment tool. Judges' kits will first be distributed at the Headstash Sesh VIP PARTYon Friday, August 29th, 2025, at the historic Eureka Theatre (doors open 7:00 PM for a B2B event followed by a Cannifest pre-party). Kits will be available for pick up after that at regional partner locations. Judging feedback is due by October 22nd, 2025. This is a fully blind competition. You will be given two tickets to this event per entry submitted.
Celebrate the Champions at the HeadStash Bowl Awards Party:
Join us for the grand Headstash Bowl Awards Party on October 25th, 2025, at Ocean View Production Studios in Port Hueneme, CA (private, ticketed event starting at 7:00 PM). This is your chance to celebrate the winners alongside judges, competitors, sponsors, and the entire Cannifest community. You will be given two tickets to this event per entry submitted.
